On Sunday, 31 May, our parish celebrated the great Feast of Pentecost — the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, and the day the Church recognizes as its own birthday. At the Divine Liturgy we heard the account from the Acts of the Apostles of the tongues of fire and the gift of the Spirit poured out upon the disciples, and after the Liturgy the faithful knelt for the Kneeling Vespers, read for the first time since Pascha, asking the Holy Spirit's blessing upon all creation. The church was beautifully decorated with greenery and flowers, following the custom of the feast. Photos from the celebration will be added here soon.
